What this place is
Nine Across is a small set of word tools for people in the middle of a game. Every tool runs in your browser against the same British English list of 110,000 words, so results appear as you type and nothing you enter leaves your device.
The daily hint pages are written from each day's puzzle data. Hints are sealed until you open them, and we say clearly on any page that gives the answer away.

Is it free?
Yes. There is nothing to sign up for. Adverts pay for the site.
Do you spoil the daily puzzles?
Only if you ask. Hint pages keep every answer sealed, and any page that shows an answer says so at the top.
Which dictionary do you use?
A British English word list of about 110,000 words, built from the open SCOWL project. It is not the official Scrabble dictionary.
