How the word finder works
Type the pattern you know, using a question mark for each letter you don't. The list shows every word that fits, grouped by first letter, with the Scrabble score beside each one.
The boxes below the pattern add more filters. A length narrows it to one size, starts with and ends with fix either edge, and contains keeps only words that have certain letters somewhere inside.
Questions, answered briefly
How do I search with gaps?
Type the letters you know and a question mark for each gap. C?A?E finds CRANE, CHASE, CLAVE and any other five letter word that fits.
Can I search by start, end or letters inside?
Yes. Use the starts with, ends with and contains boxes, on their own or together with a pattern.
Can I find five letter words with certain letters?
Yes. Set the length to 5 and put the letters in the contains box. For words with A and E, type ae.
Is this good for Wordle?
It works well when you know some letters and positions. For a full game with colours, use the Wordle solver.
